Enjoy a Sofitel Sydney High Tea
The Sofitel Sydney High Tea experience is an elegant afternoon for groups of women (and the odd man) celebrating friendship, baby showers, birthdays, engagements and weddings.
But the ones we love best are the themed high teas for families with children.
The Sofitel Sydney Wentworth Hotel in the Sydney CBD is the perfect venue for such a treat, and is ideal for kids from 5-12 years old.
You’ll dine and drink tea in the surrounds of the Tea Lounge, and be treated like a VIP from the moment you enter the door.
Don’t think that high tea is just for girls. It’s not.
My boys LOVE to dress up in their finery for a very special meal, and they surprise me every time with their ability to sit still, converse like adults, and not resort to kicking one another under the table. They definitely rise to the occasion.

We loved the themed Frozen High Tea for kids!
It was the Olaf Religieuse that did it. Energised us to traipse into Sydney with four kids in tow to wolf down one of these incredibly cute Olaf-inspired French pastries.
Made of two choux pastry cases, one larger than the other, filled with crème pâtissière, and decorated with the cheeky face of everyone’s favourite Snowman, how could anyone resist?

That this sweet treat was part of a Disney-inspired “Frosted” high tea inspired by the multi-award winning and the highest-grossing animated Disney film of all time, Frozen.
This worldwide hit continues to resonate with boys and girls of all ages, so a feast of yummy delights, both sweet and savoury, was never going to be a hard sell. As lifelong Disney fans who don’t live anywhere near a park, we also cannot pass up a Disney-inspired experience of any kind in Australia.
Surprised by the attention to detail – the table setting, the ornaments, the decorations, the napkin rings put in place by the lovely staff at the Sofitel- we were all super excited to see what lay ahead!
The Frozen High Tea experience was priced at $65 per adult and $29 per child. My cousin Brooke and I shared a traditional high tea three-tiered plate stand and it was a delight.
The kids were given their own rectangular platter with a smaller selection of goodies, including the all-important Olaf pastry. The personal plate for each child was an inspired touch – sharing cute food was never going to be easy.
