Gift Shopping – Toy Stores in Rome
When you are in Rome with children in tow, you might find yourself, like we did, looking for toy stores in Rome.
Toy Stores in Rome – Little Big Town
On one of our walking explorations, we stumbled upon this one, Little Big Town. Several stories high, this shop was packed with all the toys a kid could want. My kids were in toy heaven. They stock craft and activity packs for boys and girls with these kinds of themes – make your own window mosaic, bracelet, fortune cookies, DIY puzzles, activity pegs, sewing cards – you can even pack Italian-themed Play-Doh packs!
There’s everything you’d find in an American Toy Store too – My Little Pony, Superhero toys, Barbie dolls,, LEGO, trains, NERF, Playmobil, Fischer Price toys, Bean and Brio toys. And if your kids love magic, they’ll definitely find new tricks here. There’s the usual plush section with the normal array of zoo animals, dogs, puppies and Minnie and Mickey Mouse. But we also spied a few plush Pinocchio dolls! Now that joins our list of gift ideas from Rome. Expect to pay similar prices to what you pay at home, or slightly more for some things.
Speaking of Pinocchio, if you are looking for a wooden Pinocchio doll, you’ll find one here. (A much better range can be found at the Pinocchio Toys Shop near the Trevi Fountain.) We were torn between two souvenirs – the “headless” Pinocchio t-shirt and the Model Gladiator statues. In the end, the Gladiator statue won out. (Boys… you know.)
Little Big Town also has a dedicated Candy Store – hand pick your own selection. Plus there’s a wall of beautifully packaged Italian chocolates.
All the Italian Brands
Finding toy stores in Rome in which to do some souvenir shopping can be difficult, especially when you are looking for toys that are exclusively Italian. But this toy shop stocks a bundle. Fill your suitcase you’re your new brand discoveries – Spryza, Air Hedz, Flitter Fairies, Play Foam and fantastic magic tricks Marvin Magic!
If you are looking for things to do in Rome with the kids, definitely put this on your list.
Seriously, is not toy shopping the best thing to do in Rome? Break up a day of Roman sightseeing with a toy shop adventure and you’ll keep everyone happy!
